Silence for Sandy Hook Elementary

I am so saddened by what has happened in Newtown, CT.  My heart goes out to the children, their families, friends, teachers and staff.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I am participating in the Teacher Bloggers Day of Silence to honor and remember the victims and their families. Please join me in lifting the families and this community up in prayer.

Romance Novel mini album

I haven't been posting any of my scrap crafts lately.  This blog's name is Scrap N Teach.  The two things I love to do in life.  Teach and do paper craft.  I can't have one without the other.  I love to go to school everyday and teach what I've spent hours planning for.  Things don't always go the way I want, but everyday I go home and think of more things to do the next day.  I do this everyday until I'm so worn out that I need a break from thinking.  So I turn to crafting.  Crafting is the medicine for my sanity.  It helps me to relief any stress.  It brings joy to my body and soul.
When I craft, I'm usually making something for a friend.  Its more fun that way.  Here's a little mini album I made for a friend's birthday.  I used the Prima Romance Novel paper pack.  This paper is sooooo beautiful!  I didn't add a lot of embellishments because it didn't need it.  I used #10 envelopes to make the pages.  Thanks for visiting.

December Journal (Christmas writing papers)

Hello.  Almost Thanksgiving!  Although, I've already had 3 Thanksgiving meals.  Yum! I love love love to EAT!!!!  I am hosting my very first Thanksgiving dinner this year.  With the help of all my sister in laws of course.  So I'm looking forward to a nice quiet dinner.

It's always so busy when you're on break.  Its the time I get to schedule mine and my kids' doctor's appointments.  So all I've done today is run around town.  Yeah me.  Anyways, just wanted to share my latest upload to my TPT store.  I had so much fun creating the Mini Christmas Activities Pack that I didn't want to stop.  So I continued with these December Journal writing papers for upper grades and December Christmas writing papers for primary.  My students are going to love writing on something fun instead of their plain old spiral notebook.  Come take a look at these sets HERE or HERE.  Thanks all!

Ahhhh! Gosh, Thanksgiving break just can't come soon enough.  So much to do and not enough time!  This time of year always feels like chaos.  I have so many great lessons and projects to do, but I can't get to many of them due to testings and curriculum requirements. Ugh! Plus I'm beat.  Anyways, I've been working on a mini Christmas writing packet - hoping to use it in December with my students.  So, I thought I would share a couple of writing page freebies.  Just right click and save the jpeg image or click HERE to download the pdf version from my TPT store.  All graphics are designed by the talented 3amteacher at the3amteacher.blogspot.com.  Thanks for reading!

Idioms! Idioms! Idioms! and free Halloween tags

It's time to teach idioms again this year. I really enjoy using and teaching new idioms to my students, but it sure is a hard concept to learn! Year after year, my EL students tend to think the phrase literally means what it says.  But with practice and re-teaching, it’ll soon become quite fun for them.  I wanted to show you what I’m using in the classroom this year.  I typed up the idioms to be used as flash cards/task cards in small groups.  Students will read the idiom and try to figure out what it means before reading the real meaning on the back.  They will then draw a silly picture that matches the idiom.

If you would like a copy for only a couple of dollars. Please visit my TPT store HEREThere are 39 idiom phrases in this pack.  There’s also a nice little worksheet that goes with the cards for students to illustrate on.  Thanks!

Now for some FREE Halloween Tags!
I was inspired by this lovely picture and thought I could do it for my students for the 31st.  So, I made some tags to go with the treat.  It looks like it'll be easy to make, but I don't know.  Fingers cross.  Click on this blog (eighteen25) to get directions on how to make this delicious sticky treat. Click on the pictures below to save and print out your free tags.  I made these tags to fit my 2 1/2 circle punch.  Thanks for reading!
